As the "Skaventide" ushers in the new Aera of AoS, I am really proud to present you guys with this extremely effective and more than comprehensive guide to get your Stormcast to look just how you like them!
It's been quite a long time since I've made a video that I was proud of, but with this, I can finally hold my head up high again (or so I think at least.^^')
______Painting Guide _______
I mostly used Citadel paints from Games Workshop. I unfortunately have no reference to the paints of other brands, but no worries, I’m sure you’ll also do a nice job, even if you don’t own Citadel paints.
Please also note that the reason that I don't mention these names in the video, is that I don't want you to think that you NEED these paints to get a result similar to the Miniatures in my videos. If you think you can achieve the same result by e.g. mixing paints that you already have, got for it! ^^
I have currently only the broadest steps listed; Feel free to comment if what you're looking for is not here.
Armour:
- A mix of Leadbelcher a. Dark Reaper (But any dark blue does fine)
- Ironbreaker (Drybrush)
- Runefang Steel (Drybrush)
- Runefang Steel (Details after wash)
Armour Straps:
- Skavenblight Dinge
Blue Cloth:
- Caledor Sky
- Lothern Blue
- Teclis Blue
White Cloth (and Plumes)
- Ulthuan Grey
- White Scar
Melee Weapons:
- (Silver bits same as armour)
- Hoplite Gold (from ArmyPainter)
- Word Bearers Red
Crossbows:
- Dryad Bark
- XV-88 (for the inside of the chipped wood)
- (Metals same as the weapons)
Fur:
- Zandri Dust
- Ushabti Bone (Drybrush)
- Ulthuan Grey (or White Scar) (Drybrush)
Oswin's accent colour:
- Sceamer Pink
- Pink Horror
Dirt:
- Multiple layers Agrax Earthshade (or Nuln Oil)
- Dryad Bark
- Zandri Dust
- Ushabti Bone
Rust:
- Mournfang Brown
- Steel Legion Drab
- Troll Slayer Orange or Fire Dragon Bright
Blood:
Blood for the Blood God
Base:
- Stirland Mud
- Mournfang Brown
- XV-88
- Loren Forest
- Dawnstone
- Administratum Grey
Washes:
- Nuln Oil
