Ultra Hat Dimension (Xbox One X) (Gameplay Walkthrough - Finale) Journey Comes to An Early End
2Check out the finale of my gameplay walkthrough featuring the indie game Ultra Hat Dimension! This game released on the Xbox One on July 15th, 2020. It was developed Kitsune Games and published by Ratalaika Games.
In this video, Bea finishes traversing the 3rd floor of the Royal Palace and her journey comes to an end.
This game is a puzzle game where you control a a girl named Bea that wins the annual Spluff Kingdom's Hat Design Competition and is invited to the awards ceremony as a guest of honor. She instantly gets teleported to the front of the royal palace and is greeted by happy and cheery Spluffs that welcome her with smiles and excitement. Things quickly go awry as one angry Spluff steals the magical wizard's hat and starts turning all of the other Spluffs into his evil minions. Bea immediately gets caught in the middle of the chaos and quickly realizes that it's up to her find the evil Spluff and stop his evil reign once and for all.
The game revolves around Bea traversing through various rooms of the royal palace and getting past all of the different Spluffs that stand in her way. The player controls Bea through these various gridded rooms with a birds-eye view. Every time Bea passes a Spluff they punch her and push her one block away from her original position (which is where the puzzle elements come into play). Bea has to either avoid the Spluffs or put on their corresponding hats so that she can punch them before they punch her. The game highly revolves around chain reactions where, once Bea punches one Spluff they end up moving near another Spluff and punching that Spluff and so on. The main goal on each map is to find the key and head to the locked door in order to progress to the next room.
This was another fairly easy achievement game, however given the puzzle elements, this one ended up taking a bit longer than some of the other games I have played recently. I think it took me around 2.5 hours to get the full 1,000 GS. You also don't need to finish the whole game to do so (I completed a little over 50% of the game so it could have taken another hour or so to complete the rest of the game).
