In This Tutorial We are going to fix Kali linux update error " Unable To Locate Package" "Could not open lock file" This error occurs generally due to the repository error sources.list file is blank.
to fix this issue follow these steps
1- Open terminal LCtrl+Alt+T
2- sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
3- paste these two entires in sources.list file
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib
deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main non-free contrib
4- LCtrl+O and then press enter to save file
5- LCtrl+X To Exit
Now you can update or install softwares .
