Unboxing a MacBook Pro after its AppleCare repair
My #MacBookPro (mid 2018) had experienced something unexpected after a flight - the battery warped (you know, where it swells up). Have had it since December 2019, and there’s no Apple Store in Qatar (I don’t trust the quality of the official Premium Resellers in the country). That caused a bulge at the base; then the locks snapped off the sides and then a small bump in the trackpad as well (display wouldn’t close properly).
I decided to wait until I was back in the US to take it to an Apple Store. The nearest available appointment I could get was at Apple Bridgestone Village. They told me the estimated period would be 10 days, and I thought it meant 10 working days. This is where AppleCare really stood out, which I bought when I purchased the MacBook Pro, as the whole repair was covered.
Lo and behold, I got automatic email updates on the repair progress. Then came the email that it was being sent to me via UPS accompanied with tracking reference. Good thing UPS has a way to send laptops like these in a safe manner.
Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, #Apple is really trying to maintain the same pace of operations when it comes to their repairs. I salute them for really keeping stores open based on public health guidance of their locations.
Time to resume my work. Read more at https://yassermasood.blog/2020/08/13/getting-apple-macbook-pro-repaired-during-covid-19-pandemic/
