I react to the 23rd May 2013 Oxford University lecture on Geometric Unity that was given by Eric Weinstein at the invitation of Professor Marcus du Sautoy. \n\nGeometric Unity isn’t a Theory of Everything, or a theory, or a hypothesis, or a model, or a specific instantiation of a well defined idea. Geometric Unity is an incomplete work in progress 'program' which explores multiple speculative ideas as it aspires to become a Unified Field Theory that seeks to replace General Relativity with something less restrictive which allows for a much more elaborate and symmetric Quantum Field Theory.\n\nMy previous 12 hour video covers the minimum academic prerequisites required to get a gist of an understanding of this esoteric subject in mathematical physics:\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_fcBInQvMM\n\nMy other 12 hour video critiques the most known "critique" of Geometric Unity:\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-WrC7iNHws&t=39272s\n\nHere is a link to the May 23rd 2013 Oxford University lecture that I am reacting to:\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7rd04KzLcg&t=2118s\n\nHere is a link to the transcript of this lecture, with helpful typeset equations:\n\nhttps://geometricunity.org/2013-oxford-lecture/#lecture-at-the-university-of-oxford\n\nHere is a link to the slide of the Fermionic Field Content shown within the lecture:\n\nhttps://geometricunity.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/vlcsnap-2021-03-08-11h55m03s7361.png\n\nZoom in and you will see that some of the diagram on the left edge looks like this:\n\n Spin(14)⁺\n 64\n ⁺\n – – – – – – \n\n Spin(14)⁻\n 64\n ⁻\nThis indicates that Geometric Unity is based on non-chiral U(64, 64) Weyl spinors. \n\nThese have to have been decomposed from U(128, ℂ) Dirac spinors. Unfortunately Eric Weinstein forgets to convey that he is working with a U(128, ℂ) gauge group for the majority of this lecture, even though his intention was clear in this slide which was prepared prior to this 2013 lecture. This could have caused inattentive viewers to have the wrong impression and misconstrue that Geometric Unity was based on a U(128) gauge group, which is not the case.\n\nThis is a trivial inconsistency which was clarified by Eric Weinstein's 2021 draft paper, where much the same diagram can be seen reproduced on page 51:\n\nhttps://geometricunity.nyc3.digitaloceanspaces.com/Geometric_Unity-Draft-April-1st-2021.pdf#page=51\n\nThe caption on this slide of the Fermionic Field Content is important:\n\n Idea: Chirality is not fundamental but is only emergent and the Chiral\n complements are Dark Matter.\n\nHere U(64, 64) is a non-chiral gauge group which is sufficiently elaborate for it to include as many types of fields which have left handed spin properties as it has types of fields which have right handed spin properties. It is the latter which are predicted to include the Dark Matter fermionic field content which ensures that galaxies rotate in the way that they are observed to as if they had more mass spread throughout them between their luminous stellar material.
