(IV hunting increase to such an extent that various species became almost extinct?
Under colonial rule hunting incerease to such an extent that various species became almost extinct. There are various reason behind this:-
(1) The British saw large animals as sign of wild, primitive and Savage society.
(2) They used to give reward for killing of tigers, wolves and other large animals on ground that they consider a threat to cultivators.
(3) Certain area of forests were reserved for hunting.
(4) Around 80,000 tigers, 1,50,000 leopards and 2,00,000 walves were killed during \( 1875^{\circ}-1925 \).
