To examine how the #Router works:

Step 1: First of all, install the #PacketTracer simulator program on your computer and log in to the program as Guest Login.

Step 2: Add one Cisco Router, two Cisco Switches, and two computers from the devices section to the workspace.

Step 3: Connect the computers you added to separate Switches and do not connect the switches to the Router for now.

Step 4: All computers on the same subnet on the LAN can communicate with each other when connected to Switches in the environment.

Step 5: To test this process, assign IP addresses to computers from the same IP block and test the network connection of PCs connected to two Switches.

Step 6: If the computers are connected to different LANs, that is, an IP block is divided into subnets, such a network structure requires a Router.

Step 7: In this case, Switches connected to the FastEthernet0/0 and FastEthernet0/1 interfaces of the router can directly communicate with computers in different Subnets.

Step 8: In the network topology in our video tutorial, we basically examined how a Router connects two subnets and what FastEthernet interfaces do.
