Undertale: Bonetrousle (Advanced Piano) Toccata Variations
6,537I can't believe it's been 5 years since the release of Undertale. To celebrate here's a version of Bonetrousle, Papyrus's Battle Theme, that gets harder and harder/more and more Russian as it goes along. The final variation is very tricky so players be warned.

This arrangement is a long time coming. I originally planned it for Halloween 2 years ago, but had to delay it multiple times because of the difficulty. So this year I put my foot down, and decided to get this recorded no matter what. This took far too much practice (just straight technical work for the past month) to get to performance level, so I hope the extra effort shines through.
The arrangement itself is divided into 3 variations of increasing difficulty with a short introduction at the start. The boom-chuck/stride left hand gets deceptively tricky at parts in the 2nd and 3rd variation due to all the chromaticism and stepping bassline, with the occasional octave thrown in there for good measure (original all the bass notes were full octaves. I'd still be practicing it if I kept it that way.)
I struggled so much to get a clean recording of this arrangement: If I nailed the last variation, then I'd have a silly mistake in the first variation and visa versa. So full disclosure, I replaced the audio with a different take for a portion of the 2nd variations to edit out 2 wrong notes. Sharp-eyed viewers may be able to spot it. I just didn't want to throw away a great take due to 1 or 2 random mistakes. Plus it's time to move onto the next video. Otherwise we'd be here until the end of the year.
