Now's your chance! With EV prices falling so quickly, there are amazing deals to be had on many electric vehicles that turn them from being curiosities or non starters into very useful daily drivers that undercut much smaller and less efficient gas powered vehicles. With the need for a stop and go traffic daily driver to commute in, we find ourselves suddenly interested in maybe getting the best possible deal on an EV that we can, and there aren't many EVs that give you more for less money than the Toyota Bz4X and its sister EV SUV the Subaru Solterra EV. With prices on the highest trims falling into the $20k range from the $50k range, you're literally getting a fully loaded model at half price. While there are a number of drawbacks with the Toyota bZ4x and Subaru Solterra, such as underwhelming range and recharge speeds, the overall size and utility of the sister SUVs along with the solid options on offer make them very compelling for a mid-$20k price. We were able to find a number of Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Solterra models with low miles under $30k, and some were even cheaper than that. Prices continue to fall on used cars, especially used EVs, so if you're interested and patient, it's very likely that you'll be able to find a good deal on a used EV as well. We'll very likely end up with a hybrid of some kind to maintain a little more residual value since we like to drive cars and SUVs for a long time, but it's possible that an EV could be in our future.
