Unity FINALLY Developing A GAME! (Unity 6 Survival Game & Switch 2)
123Should Unity actually use their own tools to make games? When a game engine company doesn’t build games themselves, they miss out on the very real, often messy challenges that developers face out in day to day life.
Unity do have a track record of abandoning projects, tooling and titles like Gigaya but maybe, just maybe this time it will be different?
Fast forward to 2025, and it’s finally happened. Unity has seen it through from start to finish. They’ve developed and shipped a full game—Survival Kids, made with Unity 6 and published by Konami for the Switch 2. That’s a huge milestone.
Here’s hoping this marks the start of a real shift—where Unity keeps building games, keeps learning, and keeps making their tools more powerful, stable, and developer-friendly as a result.
