Unity3D: Doom Inspired Engine Alpha 1
I thought I'd finally showcase what I have so far. I have working doors/switches/lifts, though most of them do so instantaneously because I simply use go to points.
The reason the lift is visible is because the player would just floor through it so I bone animated that one. The extracted Doom level seems to have some glitches in the lighting and there's some bugs with the billboard script for the sprites, though neither of these should be a problem once I start making my own assets on top of this.
Making an engine functionally the same as Doom is just the first step, I plan to utilize it with my own assets to create something that truly feels like a 90's first person shooter but modernized.
