UnlocX Gel Blaster Pistol V1 - Ultimate night time winter target practice, with lasers!

I had the pleasure of reviewing the UnlocX Gel Blaster Pistol V1 recently, kindly sent to me by UnlocX! This Gel Blaster is a lot of fun, and a great value, year round! I have reviewed one other amazon Gel Blaster (and another one in the coming months), and all blasters are similarly priced. This specific model (blue and white) comes in at just $80 Canadian! For a blaster that shoots at 200FPS, with a metal barrel, upgradable components, and extra blaster addons, this value is simply unbeatable!
The most fun was night blasting however! With my taped on performance flashlight (check out the review here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTJWTVcwiho&list=PLpFBE453PoIxNS_2XmlemN_F93VDP_rJU&index=6&t=221s ) and my cheap laser, hitting targets was easier than ever! The warmer Gel Beads let out a condensed spray after each shot, which was super cool!
Pros:
- Price/value
- Power/FPS
- Bottom-fed mag means little to no jamming or blank fires (in both warm AND cold weather, as tested)
- Gel beads are durable and do not explode when ejected with force
- Can be held with one hand
- Solid construction with high-quality materials used throughout
- Large capacity magazine
- Accurate groupings at 20ft - 30ft
- Fun!!
Cons:
- Short barrel means less range and accuracy (hard to get accurate shots at 40+ ft without changing the angle of the blaster
- A little heavy to be held with one hand for extended periods of time (not a big deal)
- The safety on/off switch indicators are a bit confusing (when the switch is on, it shows an "X", when the switch is off, it shows an "O"; A bit confusing to me at least)
- Semi-auto firing sometimes results in blank fires/underpowered shots (timing is key, practice helps)
- No mounts for a laser, scope, flashlight, etc. (this is a big one)
- No real way to aim without shooting first then adjusting your aim accordingly
Overall in my opinion, this is the best Gel Blaster on amazon (even over the stuff from NERF, as top-loaded gel blasters jam a LOT).
I have two main concerns:
My first issue is that there are not enough Gel Beads (a bit of math equates to only a miniute of continuous fire per magazine, ~5 miniutes total). I feel as though 5 miniutes of continious fire could easily be reached by some friends in one afternoon; And then you'll need more ammo. And because its powerful, you'll need the premium ammo because cheaper ammo will disintegrate on exit of barrel.
My last issue is the lack of sights and ways to mount things, like a scope, flashlight, laser, etc. This blasters fun unfortunately ends when it gets dark out, as there's no way to mount a flashlight or laser for evening activities! In my spare time, I will be trying to create mounts and additional addons for this blaster which will be posted to thingverse to be 3D printed and modified by anyone!
