Went a bit crazy with this one, using a single biom for the entire planet. I used the Epic Games "Landscape Mountains" demo project as a biom to map the entire planet.. Currently deep down into learning the Vulkan API, taking a break to record this video and listne to some sweet music!

Quadtree based planet using 255 biomes - randomly placed here while waiting for more efficient way to paint them.
Many things left to do for those planets, current top priorities are :
- Automated biom painting based on topology maps
- Adding a layer of bicubic interpolation for terrain at lower LODs
- Completing the Runtime virtual texture setup (i do have a working prototype)
- Finetuning Normal blending to prevent pop effect
- Investigating water surface rendering
- Investigating UE 4.26 volumetric rendering
- Completing current research on point based global illumination.
- Distance field stamps/curves accross planet to allow for player base construction.
