Unsighted Any% Item Routing - An Hour-Long Video Essay About Maybe Saving 10 Seconds
2This video forms a commentary on item routing for the UNSIGHTED any% speedrun. It builds on top of the current (at the time) route as described by roofon here https://youtu.be/vq1PfoQN1uY
The idea of the route presented is to get move value out of items that are dropped from enemies and material crystals after analysing item drop processes in the code. This allows players to skip a dark spawn fight, a cutscene and an interaction and shop with the travelling merchant, which take about 40 seconds total. This time is replaced with at minimum an additional 10 seconds shopping, 8 seconds grabbing additional material crystals and maybe 10 seconds fighting enemies. In total it may leave the player with additional resources, especially if they choose to shop in the end segment.
