Text of this video, for fast readers:

I’ll just get right to the point: I’m retiring from making oscilloscope views of music that isn’t my own. What this means is that I’ll no longer be uploading oscilloscope views that aren’t of my originals or covers. I’ve created several osc. views of a certain artist’s work that I’m waiting for the right time to publish, but after those have been posted, you most likely won’t see any more osc. views of other people’s works from me.

My reasoning for this is that I believe my creative drive has outgrown my desire to make these osc. views. For a long time, my motivation to make osc. views has been quite low. When I try to work on osc. views, I just can’t get myself to focus on it. I keep getting distracted by other projects. I’ve tried many things to counteract this problem. My “composer-focused marathon” upload format helped for a bit, but I now find myself back in the same place I was before. It seems like there’s no escaping this lack of motivation, no matter what I do.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved making osc. views for my viewers. The decision to publicly retire isn’t an easy one for me, but I feel like it’s a must if I want to be honest with everyone. I think that my osc. view output coming to a standstill would be an inevitable outcome even if I kept going. If I didn’t say anything and pretended nothing was wrong, I believe I’d be upsetting people a lot more than I am now.

To those who are let down, I deeply apologize, but I hope you understand. On the bright side of things, freeing up my time and creative energy will allow me to create more original music, covers, and other cool stuff (such as chiptune-related educational content).

I truly appreciate all the support I’ve gotten over the years, and I hope to still see you around for what I have in store.
