e1.4.1 Update - https://youtu.be/cqZjil3d9PM
SCRIPT:
So this will be my third update to workshops, i had a video at launch, at 1.4.1 and now 1.5.3. We have seen major changes and a lot of power shifts when it comes to workshops and production.

When i made my first video on workshops, the wood workshop was broken and would give you sometimes up to 90K daily denars. Then at 1.4.1 we saw the tannery become the new wood workshop and provide a good 1K per day at times with the smithy not far behind. Now with several more changes to production, we see that another workshop made it to the top, will let you guys know what it is later in the video.

So i am first going to go over changes we have gotten over the patches, then how to get a workshop and maintain the workshops you do have. Then we will end it off with what is the best workshop for the current patch of 1.5.3, that may or may not be patched soon.

Also perk and skill wise, i will not cover those i this video as they are ever changing, ones they are fixed and will remain the same for a longer duration, i will include them.

List of changes that came to workshops:

First i am going to show the changes that we got previous to 1.4.1 which was also included in my last update video, so you can pause and read those changes, but we will be going over the changes that we received since our last video and as of 1.4.1.

- Adjusted some village productions. (e1.4.3)
- Item prices differentiate more among settlements so merchant players & caravans can make better profits. Better caravans = Better Economy = Better Workshops (e1.4.3)
- Further adjustments to some more village productions. (e1.5.0)

Now lets talk how to buy a workshop and quick facts about them:

To buy a workshop, you can go to any town, walk to the shop and talk to a
shop worker. Workshops usually cost around 12K-18K. Once you buy the shop, you can change the production for free or change it later for 2K in the clan other tab. You can also sell your workshop in the same tab.

- Hold L Alt while in the town to show where the workshop is
- Go during the day, because if you choose to walk around at night, workers
might not be there, will save you a trip
- # of workshops you can own is equal to your clan tier + 1

Now lets talk about finding the best workshops:

Here is the basics of how a workshop works:
- Takes raw materials made in nearby villages and makes a finished product of of said materials.
- More materials = more products that can be made to sell at the town

When making a workshop, you have to see what is being brought into town
by surrounding villages. This will insure you make a profit.

To find out what is being brought into towns, hover over the town and see
what villages are connected and then hover over the village to see what
material they produce because that is what they bring to their connected
town. Also villages connected to castles will still bring their materials to
the nearest town, not castle, so also check villages that are close to towns
but connected to a castle.

Here is a list of types of workshops and their required material to operate:

Smithy = Iron Ore / Hardwood
Olive Press = Olives
Brewery = Grain
Pottery Shop = Clay
Wine Press = Grapes
Tannery = Hides / Linen
Silversmith = Silver
Wood Workshop = Hardwood
Wool Weavery = Wool
Velvet Weavery = Cotton
Linen Weavery = Flax

Here is a list of what each workshop makes:

Smithy = Weapons / Armour / Tools
Olive Press = Oil
Brewery = Beer
Pottery Shop = Pottery
Wine Press = Wine
Tannery = Armour / Leather
Silversmith = Jewelry
Wood Workshop = Bows / Arrows / Shields
Wool Weavery = Clothing
Velvet Weavery = Velvet
Linen Weavery = Linen

Now while supply of materials is important, so is the demand for these
materials. This one is a bit harder to track and find out exactly, but
here is the summary:
- The higher prosperity a town has, the better demand and also prices will
tend to be higher so better profits for you.
- Also towns that have huge amount of traffic is very good; ones where
caravans and lords visit often and buy or trade.
- You can wait at a town and see what villagers bring in and what caravans
buy to get a better look of what is popular at a town and if the town
has a lot of traffic.

Also a quick tip to increase traffic is to decrease danger:

What i mean is get rid of bandit hideouts, take more enemy fiefs around the
town your workshop is in. This is done to make caravans stop by more at a
town because they will not be chased by bandits or enemy lords.

Also help friendly villagers or caravans as much as possible in the
surrounding area to make sure they arrive at that town your workshop
is in.

Now as of 1.5.3 the best workshops to make are Wool Weaveries & Breweries
