Updating a CoCo SDC Firmware and DOS and adding SDCX the CoCo SDC eXplorer
The CoCoSDC is probably one of the greatest new creations for the CoCo ever, it allows you to use an SD card to storage floppy and hard disk images that can be mounted and ran on a real CoCo as if they were physically attached. It litereally bridges the gap between emulation and real hardware.
The CoCo SDC has been around for a while, and over time, the firmware and DOS versions receive updates.
Part of this video will show you how to update the Firmware and DOS versions on the CoCo SDC itself.
As of the creation of this video the Firmware version is 117 and SDC DOS is 1.4
Another great recent addition to the CoCoSDC hardware is a program called SDCX or SDC eXplorer which is a menu driven utility that allows you to very easily visualize the contents of your SD card, mount images and launch the programs on them.
We will cover how to add the SDCX program to your SD card, and configure the CoCoSDC to auto start the SDCX program, and even run through a few demonstrations on how to use SDCX.
