To open the gate, you'll need the hand. The item which was just the tracking bracelet, from the hunting lodge, was updated to now be a hand with said tracking bracelet. Using it will open the door below where you can interact with a certain item to trigger a cutscene, which takes you to a new, yet familiar looking area. While there's not much there at this point, the story will likely continue there.
