The twelfth episode of my Remembering the Journey series begins with Uru: Complete Chronicles, which is an instalment in the series with a... strange history.

Uru began life as a multiplayer online game, and after this failed they remarketed the game as Uru: Ages Beyond Myst with some small tweaks to make the single-player experience easier. They followed this with the expansion packs Uru: To D'ni, which added unreleased online content, and Uru: Path of the Shell which added a couple more Ages to the game and an entire new storyline to follow which explores the religion of D'ni and adds a lot more lore to the Myst universe. These offline variants were then sold as the single package Uru: Complete Chronicles, as well as having some varied successes with returning to an online format - once as Myst Online: Uru Live (MOUL) being hosted by GameTap which fell through when GameTap decided to rescind their global-access and provide their services only to North America, and once this fell through, a free to play version hosted by Cyan themselves (I believe) called Myst Online: Uru Live Again (MOULA) - as quoted on the Myst Online: Uru Live "About" page: "Myst Online: Uru Live is the latest incarnation of Uru, a series of amazing adventures starting with Uru: Ages Beyond Myst and spanning Uru: To D’ni and Uru: The Path Of The Shell. This version that I am playing through is the version that shipped with the Myst 25th Anniversary collection, and as you can see as I play it, comes complete with glitches - I may not be able to complete Gahreesen if I can't fix the rock's glitch...
