Add / Delete Games On Your Retropie or Batocera SD Card

Retropie Images
1. Download WinSCP and Putty for windows.
2. With your Pi, scroll to Retropie Configuration (or Options) and turn on Wifi. Note your assigned IP address.
3. Load Putty on your PC. Enter the Pi's IP address.
Username: pi
Password: raspberry
*All lower case. You won't see the password when typing.
4. From the command line, type: df -h
This shows you free space. Free space is the top line.
5. Load WinSCP. Enter the IP address. Enter the username and password above.
6. Roms folders are in the following path: home/pi/retropie/roms
7. Go into a roms folder and delete games you don't want. If you are adding large games, you'll need to delete large games in PS1, PSP, and Sega CD.
8. Add (copy) roms in the proper format into the correct system's rom folder.
9. Restart Emulation Station on your Pi.
10. The games will be in the system menu. But you'll need to run the scraper to get artwork. Don't run main scraper. You might delete some of the other games artwork.
11. Hit Select button. Scroll to Edit Metadata, and select it. Scroll down to scrape at bottom of screen. Select. It will search then come up with what is available. Select it. Then select save. You're good to go. If the game does not load, you may need to switch emulators. Load the game and hit the A button multiple times during the brief loading image. A menu appears. Do not change the top line choice. That is the default emulator for all games in that system. Change the 2nd line choice. That only changes the emulator for this particular game. After you click on the emulator you want, Select Launch Game. If it still does not run, try a different emulator. If none of the emulators load the game, the rom is bad or incompatible with Retropie.

Batocera images
1. Download and install WinSCP and Putty for windows.
2. Go to your Pi and load Batocera. Click Start and select Network Settings. Turn on Wifi and connect to your router. Reboot Batocera, go back into Network Settings and note the IP Address assigned to your Pi.
3. Load Putty on your PC. Enter the Pi's IP address.
Username: root
Password: linux
*All lower case. You won't see the password when typing.
4. From the command line, type: df -h
This shows you free space on the sd card. Free space is on the bottom line.
5. Load WinSCP. Enter the IP address in Host Address box. Enter the username and password in the proper boxes.
6. Roms folders are in the following path: userdata/roms
7. Go into a roms folder and delete games you don't want. If you are adding large games, you'll need to delete large games in PS1, PSP, Dreamcast, Saturn, and Sega CD.
8. Add (copy) roms in the proper format into the correct system's rom folder.
9. When done, go back to your Pi, and click Start. Click Game Settings and then click Update Games Lists.
10. The games will be in the menu for the console you added them to. But you'll need to run the scraper to get artwork.
11. Move the highlight over the game and Hold the A button until a menu appears on the right side of the screen. Scroll to Scrape, and select it. It will search then come up with what is available. Select the one you want to apply and click it. It will download the images or video and that will be it. Depending on the type of game, you may need to change emulators assigned to that particular game. If the game does not load when you click on it, Hold the A button until the menu appears. Click on Advanced Game Options. Next click on Emulators and choose a different emulator. Then back out of that menu and try to load the game. If it still does not load, try another emulator. If none of the emulators load the game, either the rom is not good, or the game is incompatible with the emulators Batocera uses.
