After i cleaned the internal contacts i tried again and it finally worked, the plug was very tight and it just may not have been connecting with the pins, but it worked and performance was solid with no erratic glitches.

If you want to use a Sega Master system/Genesis/Mega drive controller on your Amiga do it at YOUR OWN RISK,and do your research.

Sony MSX and Sega Saturn joypads (which have the Atari port connector)are wired non standard and have different ground pins, which could damage the Amiga.

i did a lot of research and looked on forums about if the Sega controllers actually damaged the Amiga,i found very little if no evidence that they do,(many forum users say the had used them with no issues).

Commodore 64 users are advised to buy a convertor,as that system is known to have a conflict with Sega controllers and have been known to damage the CIA chip.
