This is what I use to play racing games that really require (or are just better) an analog stick and triggers. And no, it isn't baloney; aside from that its sort of silly the idea of faking something like this just for clout (because that would only make myself wish it was real), there's some links about it below that discuss the app/process.

And if you wonder why the network was disconnected from the internet...well, you can clearly see the router was not connected to a modem (I have a new router+modem combo right now) but it still can work with LAN. Also if you want to try this out, this requires PPJoy so make sure to know what you need to do if you have a 64bit Windows system. I use Windows 10 64-bit so I had to disable Driver Signature Enforcement through the Test Mode in order to have PPJoy installed and enabled for this.

By the way, for the best experience, please have your PC connected to the same router as the Wii through Ethernet cable (or use a strong repeater), if you have luck and are close enough to the wi-fi, you won't get noticeable input delay at all...but if you connect from too far away, it WILL get noticeable. I learned that one from a friend that accidentally set it up with Wi-Fi and a router that was far away from his PC.
