Valeera Book Of Heroes - All Bosses Playthrough The WORST Hearthstone Book Of Heroes Ever!
23I playthrough the entire Valeera / Rogue Book of Heroes, defeating all boss challenges in a single sitting. I have listed timestamps below in case you're only looking for tips on how to defeat a specific boss / challenge. I think this is my longest Book of Heroes run so far and there's a lot of reasons for that. This book of heroes is quite ridiculous in terms of the difficulty and overall design. I have some thoughts on the last three bosses below which took me multiple tries and over an hour to complete just for these three. I wouldn't necessarily consider it a guide, but it may help you complete these challenges.
In my opinion, the most difficult bosses are the last three ones. The final battle with Jorach Ravenholdt where you have silent shadows to defeat was very frustrating. There are so many cards in your deck that are completely useless and you have limited options for removal. Not only that, but you can't see the stats of the hidden shadows. My advice for this one: you have to get lucky. There's also probably some merit in memorizing the health of the stealth shadows. I got out with about 2 hp at the end - totally not cutting it close at all. This is referring to the An Unexpected Invitation.
The battle with Garona is also very difficult. It's totally unfair and RNG-based. You have to get super lucky with your hero power and be able to take some useful cards such as Cloak of Shadows (the one that makes you invisible). You also need to draw the lifesteal card because she can basically damage you for 4 every turn by simply using her hero power and dealing double damage to you. You can see how it would not be wise to let any minions stick unless you have taunts. It also doesn't feel great when you get eviscerated for 8 dmg right from the start.
The battle with Cho'Gall is also super RNG. You need to get lucky in the second phase on what you draw and what the hero power pulls to the board. One of the biggest issues is that once you go into the 2nd phase, you're basically drawing and playing whatever card you draw. Not a great position to play from. Once you get clutchmother Zavas, you can keep getting it buffed by the discards.
I'll just say it - this is the worst book of heroes in Hearthstone so far. It's like they didn't even try or playtest this. What are your thoughts?
