Valheim - Snapshot - Crystal Corners - Enclosing the Lower Level & Adding More Flametal Columns
The continuing adventures in the Valheim world we've have been running since Hearth and Home was released. All vanilla, no mods, survivor mode.
This is a building video with zero combat. I test a few locations for crystal walls & then add more flametal columns. Recording was made during patch 0.219.16.
With the base of the tower nearly wrapped up, I have been thinking about the corners a bit. I'd love to try and use the crystal that I have to make some nice corners, but I'm sure that I'll need to harvest more to get them all.
My first attempt doesn't line up right. I tried using the edge from the copper Dvergr wall screens, but the crystal didn't make a clean corner. Once I made sure the alignment was okay, I tried again and got it to look good. At least it works for now and gives me options for trimming it out.
I moved on to the corner that is a bit out of alignment and had to improvise a bit to make sure I picked a good spot for the snaps. At first, I started at the bottom, which was a mistake because it had the most connection options. I moved up and reduced my number of "good" options and it worked in the end.
The other sides of the tower went pretty smoothly, except for the sun and the shield making it difficult to see a bit. At once point it was hard to tell if I had snapped correctly or not because of the visual distortion from the shield.
Thankfully, had enough crystal to finish out the corners around the entry point to the rest of the dock. The corners look good from the outside. I took a swim around the base to make sure and I think it just needs a bit more decoration and wood trim. We'll see what I can think of.
I then went back up top and kept adding flametal columns. I need more flametal, grausten, crystal, ashwood, and just about everything else...
This clip is from day 2254 and will be included in an upcoming video.
