Valheim - Snapshot - Moving the Floor Up - Finding a Snapping Solution & Starting the Third Level
The continuing adventures in the Valheim world we've have been running since Hearth and Home was released. All vanilla, no mods, survivor mode.
This is a building video with zero combat. It involves solving a snapping point problem & running out of flametal. Recording was made during patch 0.219.16.
The tower is moving up, and it took me a couple of tries to figure out how to make happen.
With the flametal columns marking some points from below, I was able to snap a new ring around the next level. Once I had one column up to the height that I wanted, I made another, using grausten for the top piece so I can have a snap point on the even meter. I'll demolish that piece later and replace it with another flametal column.
I used some grausten beams, as below, but I ran into a problem setting the floor. Below, I had made it from the outside ring of stone in, but up here I didn't have that reference.
I climbed the stairs and tried a few of the snap points, before having a brain wave when I came back down.
Using the floor as my guide, I could just snap it it and make a big stack of 1x1 floor tiles, all of the way up to the elevation that I needed.
The 1x1 column looked cool though, I'll have to make one of those in another spot.
I then used more grausten to make another column and fill in the beams a bit. All of that will be replaced with flametal... but I need so much more...
This clip is from day 2248 and will be included in an upcoming video.
