This is the same Kraken we all know and hate, but his stats are much higher than on easy mode. For those who don't know, you gain 1 crystal per playthrough (items don't carry over, by the way). The difficulty goes up with each crystal, so this is my 18th playthrough in recent months. It caps at 50, so I still have a long way to go. :(\n\nEnemy stats at 17 crystals (courtesy of Tri-Ace Fanboy's FAQ):\n\nHP: x6 (HP is also doubled for leaders.)\nAttack/magic: x9.5\nHit: x2.8\nAvoid/RDM/RST: x1.3\n\nBased on information from that same FAQ, Kraken's stats for this run:\n\nHP: 60,000\nAttack: 1,472\nMagic: 1,235\nHit: 117\nAvoid: 41\nRDM: 52 (for his vital spot)\nRST: 19 (see above)\n\nAs you can see, he has an excessive amount of HP for this point in the game. But never fear, because cheap AP recharging combos are here! I never used this strategy in my previous crystal runs, so this was actually only the second time I've done this to a boss. (The first time was in the actual playthrough and also on Kraken.)\n\nSadly, I had to use Leone for this to work (no Turgen Mine for me, thanks). It makes the fight a billion times easier though, so I'm not that concerned about it. Also note that I screwed things up several times, but that was obviously due to inexperience and/or Descending Sword being an awful attack. Take your pick.
