Valor and Villainy is a consistently entertaining entry level game for groups who might be interested in larger cooperative games like DnD or already enjoy semi-cooperative games like betrayal. It is an accessible game with interesting character growth and interaction, manageable player choice, and a humorous yet recognizable theme. In Valor and Villainy you play as either a team of heros struggling to overcome the forces villainy descending upon your land or you play as Mordok, the single orchestrator of the chaos and the hopeful ruler of the kingdom. The game encourages character development, strikes a nice balance between the struggle to overcome insurmountable odds and the feeling of growth and power from character leveling. The hero's advance in notable and important ways every round and the villain, with each successful attack grows in power increasingly adding chaos to board. This is a fun group game, a great introduction to role playing and cooperative games, and the perfect game for a family / relaxed gaming group / or even a hard core board gamer who needs a break and a laugh sometimes.
