0This is a full playthrough of all four tracks in Vapor TRX, a weird-ass futuristic vehicular combat racing game.
Developed by Atari and Blue Shift in 1998, Vapor TRX features four courses (Eagle Canyon - Easy | Midnight Bullet - Medium | Alpine Edge - Hard | Breakneck Speedway - Xtreme) and six selectable ships with each having different performance attributes.
Each race is a two lap dash to first place. Use the "fire" button on your ship to activate the cannon and launch missiles to takeout 15 other CPU opponents. If you finish first on all courses you complete the game's "Circuit", which takes about 10 minutes to do and is nothing special since completing only shows a scene of of four trophies popping up on a shelf that has a podium of the four track artwork.
Vapor TRX is incredibly small in content and I say that because this game is an arcade exclusive release. You can't even race the tracks in a mirrored mode which is surprising considering Vapor TRX was competing with Hyperdrive from Midway, which came out the same year.
The playthrough was played and recorded (via the built-in AVI capture and converted to MP4 using HandBrake) in MAME 0.261 with my Xbox One controller, enjoy!
