Read description for more information:
The English versions of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire have two revisions (version 1.0 and version 1.1). Some of the data was changed between version 1.0 and version 1.1.

The most well known example is probably how version 1.0 of Pokémon Ruby erroneously refers to Mawile as "Mawhile" in its Pokédex descriptions.

(At least some) European English versions of Pokémon Ruby do not have the typo, and instead refer to Mawile correctly.

Additionally, according to Blaziken257, the typo was fixed in later American versions of Pokémon Ruby as well. http://forums.glitchcity.info/index.php/topic,7018.msg196214.html#msg196214

This video is a compilation of various revision differences between version 1.0 and version 1.1 that Háčky found when comparing the ROMs.

Revision differences are explained in detail in this thread:
http://forums.glitchcity.info/index.php/topic,7211.0.html

Paras's Pokédex entry:
-----
Version 1.0 refers to Paras as “the BUG POKéMON host” rather than "this BUG/GRASS POKéMON host”.

Mawile's Pokédex entry:
-----
In version 1.0, Mawile is referred to as "Mawhile" in its Pokédex entry on both occasions.

Record Center text:
-----
The record lady who allows you to mix records in the Pokémon Cable Club Record Corner refers to it as the "Record Center" in version 1.0 if you have reached far enough in the game to mix records. This was changed to "Record Corner" in version 1.1.

Other texts in version 1.0 call the feature the "Record Corner", such as two NPCs in Mauville City Pokémon Center and the record lady herself if the corner is under preparation.

Softboiled 'unusable' text:
-----
In version 1.0, if the player tries to use Softboiled as a field move, but the move cannot be used, then the game will state "This item can’t be used on that POKéMON." The text was changed to "This can’t be used on that POKéMON" in version 1.1.

Togepi doll description:
-----
In version 1.0, the description of the Secret Base Togepi doll (which is available by spending 48 BP on it in Pokémon Emerald and using The Trader, apparently http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Old_guys#The_Trader) is "A TOPGEPI doll. Place it on a mat or a desk." This "TOPGEPI" typo was fixed in version 1.1.

In-game "Save failed. Checking the backup memory..." menu bug:
-----
In Generation III, there is a menu (that may appear with the Professor Birch bag background in at least Ruby, Emerald) where the game states that a save failed. A clock is shown and the game requests that the player waits. It will attempt to save the game three times and tell the player that the backup memory is damaged or the internal battery has run dry if it fails.

It may be seen when trying to save on some games, but can be accessed by editing 03005EA8 to 01 while saving (for a Pokémon Ruby version 1.0 or version 1.1 ROM), and editing it back to 00 will allow for a successful save in the three attempts the game tries to save.

Háčky has more detailed information about the menu here. http://forums.glitchcity.info/index.php/topic,7211.msg199183.html#msg199183

In version 1.0, text goes off the edge of the screen and menu box graphics become corrupted. This was amended in version 1.1's menu, which does not have text go off the screen or corrupted graphics, however, there may still be an error where text from "Check completed" ("eted") is not cleared when "Save failed" replaces it.

SatoMew2, Pokechu22 and True Time Attack have videos featuring the menu.

Emerald: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lSPJwjnnUI

Other differences not included in the video:
*A change in the "Today's Smart Shopper" text (apparently availabe via mixing records) where the phrase "the POKéMON Mart" is replaced with "a shop" in version 1.1.
*Name changes on evolution: Apparently evolving a Pokémon from an original non-English species name (or a name that is the same as the English species name such as Bulbasaur also being called Bulbasaur in the Spanish version) causes the name to be changed on evolution in version 1.0, but not in version 1.1. However, I tried hacking a Pokémon like this and sadly the name did not change in both versions.

*Font adjustments.
*Font character width code adjustments.
