Hey gang, here's video four in my series, and its not a FMV this time. Lots of explanations here. You may find this interesting!

This is a random battle I captured about midway through the game. In this battle, I tried to highlight the following:

1: In the beginning, I show you what the typical battle screen and magic screens look like. Almost EVERY spell name had been changed. I won't translate them all, but here are a few: Balm = Healing, Inferno = Flame Guyn, Malybu = Flamdo, etc.

2: I then (on purpose) cast confuse on all of my characters to highlight that some of the poses are COMPLETELY different in the Japanese version. Pottle's in particular is HILARIOUS and I can't believe Working Designs changed this. Poor Sandor looks like he's about to cry in his. Also to note that the status is plastered right below the character in scarily big hiragana letters.

3: Spell costs are SO much cheaper in the Japanese version. Watch as I heal Pottle and PJ - Yes, you see it right. Balm in this game costs 2 MP as opposed to 10 MP. Therefore, you don't have to spend tons of money to stockpile herbal extracts and strange brews. The one downside? You don't automatically get your HP/MP restored at level up. You can probably come to the conclusion that the Japanese version of Vay is a lot easier. Uh...I'm sure that sounds less convincing considering a character DIES in my video, but seriously, it's true!

4: Finally, I on purpose cast sleep on my characters. All the poses are different, too. In fact, I believe this is the only time in the entire game you can actually sort of see their faces in battle!

Finally, for those who are curious, name translations: Sandor = Heibelger, Pottle = Same, Rachel = Leifang, P.J. = Nina.

I'll do a similar video once I get Lynx and Kinsey if people are interested in status pose changes.

Oh, by the way, I didn't do mute because those weren't changed.
