Vectorman 2 - Title Screen, Opening & Scene 1: Geromino
FINALLY got started on this playthrough. I started my playthrough of the first game over 7 years ago by this point!
Being a 1996 game, Vectorman 2 is perhaps one of the final essential games released for the Sega Genesis. Released in the same year as the likes of Sonic 3D Blast, and the PS1's Crash Bandicoot.
However, I'm kinda disappointed with how it starts compared to the first game. No unique features on its SEGA screen, and both its title screen and Options menu are much more plain.
Either way, it's still a good game, though.
----------
In this game's opening, after Vectorman saved the Earth from Warhead and his army of rebellious robots, Vectorman returned to his job as a trash collector.
He was soaring through outer space in his ship, and decide to listen to his favorite tune. His ship was then suddenly attacked by a missile, which forced him to evacuate and descend back down to the Earth using a copter form.
On he way down to the surface, he noticed that a lot of nasty mutant bugs has infested the Earth. Vectorman now has a new mission to clear out the planet of these freaky insects, and find the source of them all!
----------
Compared to Vectorman 1, Vectorman 2 now calls its levels "Scenes" instead of "Days". Vectorman himself now has a cooler, more robotic voice that he tends to use every time he collects pickups and powerups, among other things.
Geromino is one of the shortest levels in the entire game, as you're simple using Vectorman's copter form to slowly fall back down to the Earth's surface. Survive the drop by shooting away any of the bugs you encounter, as you'll land in a swamp of pitch-black darkness to finish the level.
The next Scene, Night in the Swamp, will have you use Vectorman for real. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiAzK6ITEvA
