The final demon of Christmas is actually a rebeat of an old hardest of mine. If you know me you may know that this level put me through the wringer some 4 years ago. I've had some problems with this level not recording / corrupting in the past and it all came together to create some of my worst months playing the game.
As this level has never been uploaded on my account, I decided this would be a good time to finish it once and for all, under time constraints no less.
Of course Vendetta wasn't gonna let that happen so easily, after I started back into the grind problems quickly arose and I was suddenly back in 2019 suffering this level all over again. The primary issue being that the level now gave me random lagspikes at the first spider, the 40% wave, and the last robot. And almost any frame drop will slow my game down since I play on smooth fix (not since 2.2 dropped). This attempt was one of the lucky ones where I didn't lag enough for it to affect my gameplay. But there was plenty attempts where I'd die to all three of the aforementioned parts because the game would slow down. I almost dropped this level because I wasn't sure how much the last part would lag in normal mode when I got there.
A bit about the level, the last 40% is very consistent and actually pretty fun, though really easy to choke from nerves. The first 60% is an inconsistent, hellish mess of gameplay which mostly suffers from terrible transitions (14%, 37%, 48%) and really hard / annoying clicks (13%, 26%, 36%, 55%, 56%).
I died at the last robot 4 times because completing this level can never be painless apparently.
Mainly I beat this level because I wanted to show how much I've improved as a player since it was my hardest. And having rebeat this in a couple of days I'd say I did that. Granted, the muscle memory came back very quickly so most of that time was in normal mode and not practice.
Also fun fact, the capital T in VendetTa is typed wrong at the endscreen.
