Executive Summary: Verizon, a global wireless services provider and the largest U.S. wireless carrier with 146 million subscribers, wanted to give employees the tools they need to do their jobs. Deploying Gemini as part of Google Workspace has increased productivity when creating content, saved employees time by summarizing documents, and improved prioritization by extracting action items from email chains.
Challenge: With the goal of setting the standard for generative AI use in the wireless services industry, wireless giant Verizon sought to incorporate Gemini into its workflows. The goal was to use Gemini to reduce the amount of time spent on repetitive, mundane tasks such as summarizing email chains and lengthy documents.
Solution: Incorporating Gemini into daily workflows has brought about a new way of working at Verizon, especially for time-consuming tasks such as content creation and summarizing extensive documents. Gemini helps with creating, refining, and summarizing emails, meeting notes, announcements, and other types of content. It can also identify action items from email chains and suggest follow-up questions.
Results: Verizon surveyed its users and found that 82% feel that Gemini makes a positive impact on their day-to-day operations. Also, 74% of users said using Gemini saves them time, and 74% said that they would not want to give up Gemini.
