After my NG+ run on Hard Difficulty, I decided to up the ante and give it a try at 1.5x timescale. Unfortunately, the bullet sponginess of the enemies on NG+ made the game more tedious than enjoyable, and I instead went for a vanilla hard run which was just what I was looking for. The movements of all the enemies become much more difficult to handle, and I felt the pressure of each combat situation from the beginning of the game until the end. For anyone looking to spice up the game after mastering it, I highly recommend this method at whatever setting is comfortable, challenging, and fun.
Note that I skipped chapters 1 and 4 to save time as there is little to no combat. I believe Chapter 11 was bugged sending me endless enemy boats, but I also found it too difficult to play due to performance issues so I skipped along to Chapter 12 after fighting the good fight for quite some time. I also skipped most of the secret weapon missions with the exception of the bow which I find to be the most unique and enjoyable. Because of a bug in the Sandbox beta build, I had to go back to fight Grontho later on the main build from the Boss Select screen, followed by an intense battle with General Sintho which pushed me to my limits.
