A former British Army Captain – with a very apt surname – has swum from the northwest of England to the Isle of Man to raise money for a forces charity.

Adam Diver, who served in the military for 27 years, completed the 46-mile swim in three days and his efforts have helped raise thousands of pounds for the Healthier Heroes charity.

Adam said: "It was three days of a big mental and physical challenge. It was like being in the Army, and I had a great team.
