Vicious Circle Prototype! Atari's Janky Jaguar Based Arcade Fighting Game Beta You Never Got to Play
90's Atari was a very weird video game developer; on one hand you get something like San Francisco Rush, one of the best arcade racing games of all time! On the other hand you get something like Vicious Circle...a cancelled beta 2D fighting game based on the Atari Jaguar hardware. Retro gaming is weird like that sometimes!

On this episode we are looking at Vicious Circle by Atari. It's got Primal Rage 2 (another cancelled video game) vibes mixed with Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct retrogaming roots...but you can 100% see why it was cancelled. It's not like its a bad concept...but as far as a fighting game is concerned it has some MAJOR issues. Def not something you will see in the fighting game community any time soon! But it's an obscure and rare video game that time has forgotten but luckily video game preservation efforts mean you can check out this alpha game version today!
Luckily it works great via emulation on MAME because this arcade pcb is quite rare! Video game history and preservation all rolled up into one!
It’s sure no Street Fighter or King of Fighters though…that’s for sure!
