Saw R761 at Southern Cross after returning from Echuca and Bendigo on Monday 24th May 2021, and the Southern Steam Spectacular rail cruise, which departed Southern Cross at 9:10am on Saturday 22nd of May 2021, travelling to Castlemaine via Sunbury, Gisborne, Kyneton, Taradale and Elphinstone alongside A2 class locomotive 986. 986 then took the train solo to Echuca on Sunday the 23rd of May, before rmeeting back up with R761 at Bendigo before bringing the train back to Southern Cross via Castlemaine and Sunbury.
R761 is a Victorian Railways R class 4-6-4 locomotive built in Glasgow (Scotland) and is one of 70 built, with the first arriving in Victoria in 1951.
