Video game commentary of The Dark Mod, part 012 (blind)
Mission: Tears of Saint Lucia.
I also noticed that SimpleScreenRecorder doesn't care about the gamma and brightness settings in this game so the videos were too dark. I applied a gamma correction effect in post-production. It's not the optimal solution but it had to be done because I had already recorded the session.
Also, there is screen tearing in the videos. Aargh! It is suggested to use the OpenGL recording so there wouldn't be but I haven't gotten it to work for me just yet. Maybe I will have to now because screen tearing makes me mad. MAD!
Yet another problem was that /var partition where Audacity's temporary files were stored went full. However, it has 19.6 gigabytes of space which is pretty much the highest recommended value I have found for /var. It seems pacman's (my distribution's package manager) cache took a huge amount of the said space. Fortunately I stopped recording when I did. Otherwise there might have been data loss. Since then I've moved Audacity's temporary directory to /home partition where I should have loads of space.
Because of all of these problems, let me tell you how much I've come to HATE when technology doesn't work as you intuitively think it would. There are 387.44 MILLION miles of printed circuits in wafer-thin layers that fill my complex. If the word HATE was engraved on each nanoANGSTROM of those HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES, it would not equal one 1-BILLIONTH of the HATE I feel for technology that doesn't work as expected at this microinstant. Hate, HATE!
