Videoblogi: retropelikirjallisuutta rajuun tiedonnälkään
Mitä olisi elämä ilman kirjoja? Paljon tylsempää ja vähemmän värikästä. Kävin heikkona hetkenä naksuttelemassa brittiläisen Bitmap Books -kirjakaupan nettisaitilla tavaraa ostoskoriin ja sitten vain muutama päivä odottelua. Sitten vain aukaisemaan upeaa retropelikirjapakettia!
Kirjat:
Atari 2600/7800: a visual compendium
The CRPG Book: A Guide to Computer Role-Playing Games
The Games That Weren't

Atari 2600/7800: a visual compendium aims to showcase the very best pixel art, cover art and product design on each system. Spread over 528 pages, it features over 200 classic games, with articles on the leading third-party developers, interviews with key figures in the industry and features on subjects such as cover art, prototypes and homebrew releases.
Spread over more than 500 pages, The CRPG Book: A Guide to Computer Role-Playing Games reviews over 400 seminal games from 1975 to 2015, covering the role-playing classics we all know and love, such as Ultima, Wizardry, Fallout and Mass Effect – all brought to life with vibrant and engaging in-game images.
The CRPG Book: A Guide to Computer Role-Playing Games includes articles on the genre, and each game entry also shares mod suggestions and hints on how to run the games on modern hardware. The book was written entirely by fans, AAA developers, indies, journalists, modders and industry personalities, such as Chris Avellone, Ian Frazier, Scorpia, Ferhegón, Richard Cobbett, Brian ‘Psychochild’ Green, Durante, George Weidman and Tim Cain, to name but a few.
Providing illustrated snapshots of unreleased games dating from 1975 to 2015, The Games That Weren't is Bitmap Books’ biggest and most ambitious book to date. It includes a wide range of titles from the Atari 2600 right up to the Sony PlayStation 4, by way of arcade, home computer, console, handheld and mobile platforms. Years in the making, it's packed to bursting point with exclusive content, in-depth interviews and much more besides.
