1980’s arcade gaming fans are winning left and right this week. Way back in 1988, Irem released an action game called Vigilante. Your goal was to kick, punch, or use sparse weapons against enemies that came from either side of the screen. Advancing to the right to complete the level was the goal. Home console fans were left with the only physical port being on the TurboGrafx-16, not the “arcade at home” Sega Genesis. This was rather odd. Again, fans come to the rescue and are porting Vigilante to the Sega 16-bit console.
