Red Alarm, developed by T&E Soft and published by Nintendo in 1995.

"Pilot a high-speed space craft into an incredible 3-D space! Bursting through incredible dimensions of Virtual space the final mission is clear. Obliterate all enemies and obstacles created by KAOS and terminate this menacing battle system from within. Employing an impressive arsenal of high tech weapons and evasive manoeuvres the Tech-Wing Fighter speeds on. Spinning deaths, spy pods and mosquito mechs appear from everywhere! The fate of humanity will soon be defined. Red Alarm! Red Alarm! Alarm Condition Red!! "

Red Alert (DOH!, I Mean Red Alarm) for the virtual boy. A space ship shooter that is the bastard child of Atari's Battle Zone and Nintendo's starfox. Due to the VBs 2 dpad control system, it was quite difficult to emulate on my xbox pad, and these issues make me look like a sloppy player in the vid (Yeah, its the controls fault! )

Not a bad game though, if a little short. As im playing in 2d, and only see the 3d after I have generated a video, all the lines can make the screen messy and this is what happened in stage 4 as I get a bit lost, and stage 5 where I simply couldn't see the tunnel, only what appeared to be the enemy flying through walls at the time. Powerups can be hard to spot when the drop as I've often sped past them by time they appear. Fuel is the timer in this game. you cant collect more, and its rate of use doesn't seem to change with speed.
