VIZIO 22-inch model D 245h - G 9 screen does not tune channels
This screen is a VIZIO brand, I bought it used, it is a model for basic use, it is from an economical line, it has a 22-inch screen with Full HD resolution. The image is decent for the price, the colors are acceptable and the contrast is good thanks to the fact that it uses a panel that translates into deep blacks, which is good for watching movies or series. The design is basic with thin frames on its sides. In terms of connections, it has two HDMI inputs and a USB input, one input for composite and one for optical signal, which is good for its price range, allowing you to connect, for example, a computer and a decoder via HDMI. It has very basic built-in speakers that sound weak and without bass. I bought it second-hand and had the problem that it did not detect the television signal with the antenna. I decided to open it by removing all the screws, they are Phillips and to separate the joints you have to apply pressure with something thin on the joints of the entire plastic frame, being careful not to damage the panel or any component. When checking it, it does not present physical damage, but I noticed that the coaxial connector on the back was extremely loose, it moved to the The coaxial connector is very easy to install on both sides. It is not soldered, it is simply attached to a metal base, and this makes contact with the card up to the chassis. It is a post with a rope that allows the antenna to remain fixed to the connector. In the center, it has a second contact that is soldered to the card, since this one was broken inside and that prevented the signal from reaching the card from the antenna.
The first solution was to remove the connector from the base. This pressure is held in place by 4 rivets that apply pressure to the broken pin. The repair is simple with a soldering iron. You have to solder a wire to ensure that the tin holds firmly on the connector leg. You just have to carve with sandpaper, carving the broken bar, and to uncover the perforation of the card, I used a hook and then passed a jumper through the perforation on the board, making sure it made good contact with a multimeter.
After that, I reassembled it, connected it to the antenna, entered the screen menu to scan, and it worked perfectly. It began to search and tune all the channels of the aerial antenna.
This screen The VIZIO D is basic and can be used as a secondary monitor. It is not recommended for demanding gamers. Its refresh rate is only 60 Hertz, and its response time is not the best for fast-paced games.
