Volvo FeltVogn L3314N - Three month later
In march we bought a 1965 Volvo FeltVogn, a Norwegian military vehicle used to move troops around the battlefield (ie: as far as I know they have never been used in battle anyway), but it was not actually in running order due to a bunch of electrical issues.
I then posted a video of our first trip around the parking lot after changing the batteries, cables, spark plugs and distributor head. It was noisy as hell because the exhaust was punctured.
Since then we have done some work:
- The exhaust line has been changed
- Fixed problems with brakes and lights
- Fixed an issue with the carburetor and air filter
- Replaced/installed new handles and locks on each door
After doing that, we have significantly reduced the petrol consumption, the noise and vibration, much better accelerations, much better uphill behavior, and finally... it does not die anymore when idling: That was making the driving in cities kind of difficult.
