Vomitoreum Kickstarter Demo (Full Playthrough)
39Vomitoreum is an FPS Metroidvania set in an interconnected and nightmarish world, inspired by the likes of Metroid Prime and Dark Souls.
The game's story is about a deadly fog, that has swept the land, turning everything into horrible monsters and your job is to be the world's cure, The Nephilem, created by the Masons to battle the fog and make sure the life flourishes once again.
Despite being made in GZDoom, the game's combat is more focused on moment-to-moment set pieces, with the usual secret items to be found, alongside new weapons (3 special items and 3 weapons can be found in this demo), with art direction being inspired by a polish surrealist Zdzisław Beksiński.
This demo is a bit different from the linked one, as it has some changes and fixes I've proposed to Scumhead, but it's nothing major, just a few features that could fit into the game (it was a PM).
Speaking of which, Scumhead himself actually was willing to let me help on the project, but I had to decline, because life and school has been awful the entire year, but maybe once I graduate (I hope I actually graduate), then I might come back and try aiding in some way.
Also a jumpcut by the end because I died too many times getting the final item.
