Zakesta is an upcoming free SHMUP by Zakichi (creator of Kaikan, Vastynex, Blaynix, Tiny Xevivos) and is a fangame/tribute to Zanac/Aleste/Star Soldier series. Much like other games of theirs, it's very high quality and super fun to play.

I would want to make a correction, the scoring does not only involve medals (since the 0.5 demo, a small auto-collect radius was added), but also the hidden Zenny blocks (the value goes from 500 to 80k points, seems there's seven hidden in each stage, not sure about that, missed one at 10:20 in Stage 3) and Special Bonuses (I was only able to trigger the one on the first boss).

This demo added a third stage (out of five), set in the skies, as you fight the enemy fleet.
