#VoxAdpocalypse What is the point of YouTube without its USP?
43If YouTube is more buttoned up, tamped down, censorious and puritanical than network or cable media, what is the point of it? Given YouTube's 'USP' is that it is public access (and to a lesser extent that it shares revenue) where is the appeal if independent content creators cannot use the platform and cannot be compensated? Why do advertisers care about content on Youtube, that they're fine with on broadcast television? Why does News and Politics get censored and demonetised on YouTube, while it gets sponsored on Network Television? What's the point of YouTube if it completely ceases to be YouTube?
