Depending on where the jeweled growth is, shoot it to stun the monster and climb its back and attack the growth. The iron sledgehammer will make quick work of the growth. You can also use bomb runes to stun the beast and destroy its arms. Make sure to stand clear of its arms they hurt a lot. Keep at it until the growth breaks, killing the beast and leaving various types of mineral. Sorry, no Heart Container. :(
