Here is the first part in a new 'Walking Through' series. This time we are exploring the various landscapes of Assassin's Creed. In this first episode, we travel through Masyaf which is situated in present day Syria. The game is set in 1191 and tries to imagine how the city must have looked back then. The population is scarce and at the top of the mountain lies the imposing Masyaf Castle.
In the game, this is the first area players encounter and is the hub where they can return to and pick up new assignments. In real life too, the Masyaf Castle was the stronghold of Assassins during the late 1100s.
