Since beginning on September 17th, the "Occupy Wall Street" movement has grown in size and conflict. What started out as a peaceful protest over the blatant corruption within the U.S. financial system which lead to the current economic crisis, has now turned into a skirmish reminiscent of the 1960's Vietnam upheaval.

So far, over 80 people have been arrested for blocking traffic and disorderly conduct. Despite the gathering of up to 1,000 people, the movement has received very little mainstream media attention in the U.S. Take, for example, the fact that CNN has devoted more coverage to Nancy Grace's nipple-slip on "Dancing With the Stars."

Some media outlets began to take notice after a widely documented case of police brutality broke out on September 24th when NYPD officer Anthony Bologna pepper-sprayed young women in the face after they were penned-in by nets. In reaction to the increasing police hostility, the mysterious hacker group Anonymous -- who is partly responsible for organizing the protest in the first place -- has released a warning video on the Internet threatening to shut down the NYPD website if there are any more attacks on peaceful protestors.

Others aren't taking the movement as seriously. Footage has appeared on Youtube which shows Wall Street executives laughing at the protestors from balconies as they drink champagne. Others in the media, such as the NY Daily News, have ridiculed the protestors for behaving like "a bunch of spoiled brats" and that "If the NYPD has made any tactical error in this episode, it was in being too tolerant." So what do you think? Do you support the protestors, or do you think it's a total waste of time? Leave a comment below and let us know.
