Its interesting that it is possible for a game to market itself as "hardcore" and "realistic" while also being completely casual in nature and thus attracting egocentric players who are looking for a way to feel superior to their peers. War Thunder found an easy way to do this: just create a release schedule where they always release yet another overpowered tank under the banner of "realism" . Its RB players then rush to buy so as to get their high of feeling powerful both in game and on the forums: they can't help but brag about the money they spend in game to their peers as a way to maintain their ego.
